Every year we feature 12 select singers in our Opera Concert. These talented young people have arrived in San Miguel on July 18 and work very hard for two weeks, six days a week prior to the concert. They have daily voice lessons, opera coaching sessions, acting sessions and Master Classes.

 

Their work is intense and their progress is exhilarating to behold.

 

We say it is transformative, and it is.

The concert features mostly arias, but some ensembles, too. Accompanied by Maestro Ted Taylor and our three apprentice opera coaches/pianists. 

 

Many of Bel Canto's alumni are enjoying excellent careers performing around the world. Some of them are on track to be the stars whose names you will hear in the coming years. But whether or not they go on to fame, all of our alumni are enriched in their art form by the work they do at the Bel Canto Institute: San Miguel.

 

It is always exciting to be among the first to hear and recognize the extraordinary talent of a future "world class" singer.
